The coronavirus outbreak has brought unprecedented disruption of our lives and workplaces. Join the Career Development Center and Office of Alumni Relations for a live talk with executive coaches Amber Setter, PCC (MA '07), Dr. Cara Miller (PhD, '12), and Brooke Erol to discuss how to reimagine one's work and life after the coronavirus. The event will be co-moderated by Dee Kayalar, ACC and Diana Grant-Davie.

Speaker Bios:

Amber Setter Amber Setter is a Professional Certified Coach who excels at transforming the lives of high-performers. Her areas of expertise include executive coaching, building coaching cultures and the design and delivery of leadership development programs. She is a graduate of Accomplishment Coaching - an ICF accredited Coaches Training Program- and also completed their Advanced Leadership Program while serving as a Mentor Coach. Amber holds a Masters of Arts in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting from San Jose State University. Amber is certified to administer a variety of leadership assessments. She’s seen the most transformative results within her clients while using The Leadership Circle Profile, a 360 feedback assessment designed to accelerate leadership effectiveness beyond traditional competency-based approaches; and HBDI, a powerful psychometric assessment that gives insight into why a leader values certain types of information over others. Amber loves to coach leaders through transitions, including career reinvention, promotions to higher levels of authority, and shifting from being a brilliant expert to a curious and humble leader. Amber has worked as an internal coach and had her own private practice.
Dr. Cara Miller Dr. Cara Miller is an author, professor, coach, and consultant in the fields of leadership formation, organizational change, the psychology of adult development and learning. She received an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary and a PhD from the University of San Diego. She was affiliated with Harvard University as a Teaching Fellow in the Extension School and an Instructor in Harvard’s Programs in Professional Education for 5 years. She draws on developmental psychology to coach senior leaders in many contexts (individuals, partnerships, teams, boards) through my consulting firm, Inquiry Partners. Dr. Miller utilizes adaptive leadership theory to consult to organizations from diverse industries engaging in change efforts (military, higher education, finance, ministry, manufacturing). As a practitioner and partner, she seeks to embody, facilitate, and teach timely, developmental, transforming leadership while accessing her deepest values of integrity, mutuality, and vulnerable power in her professional and personal roles, for the sake of individual and organizational sustainability.
Brooke O. Erol Brooke O. Erol is the Founder/President of two local San Diego businesses, YourBestLife and Purposeful Business. She has worked with leaders, founders, C-level executives closely since her first career days at IBM. She has international experience working with Fortune 500 companies as her clients. She is also an author of Create a Life You Love. She speaks internationally about the Future of Workplaces and Purpose in Business. She is passionate about having more humanity, passion and purpose in the workplace. She helps both individuals and organizations get aligned with themselves by clarifying and living their purpose. She has completed many coaching and training programs – the most recent being CTI Co-Active Coaching and is the author of Create a Life You Love and co-author of a book the #1 International Bestseller that got published in August 2018 From Hierarchy to High Performance.
