What is SOLES’ Annual Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice Excellence Showcase?
The University of San Diego celebrates research across the campus with an annual research week. SOLES participates in this event by hosting the Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice Excellence Showcase. This is an opportunity for the SOLES community to share the important work they are involved in as it relates to diversity, inclusion, and social justice.  This is across fields of education, counseling, marital and family therapy, and leadership as it relates to inequality, multiculturalism, and historically under-resourced populations.
When is the showcase?
SOLES’ 3rd Annual Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice Excellence Showcase will be on April 22, 2020. Posters will be on display in a single location online for viewing. The interactive poster session will take place via Zoom breakout rooms from 12 - 2 and the student panel will be from 2 - 3.
Who should present at this showcase?
Open to SOLES all students, faculty, & staff members
Individual and group projects are welcome!
If you’re USD affiliated but outside of SOLES and have a project relating to diversity, inclusion, and/or social justice, please contact Kiyonna Navarro
I have never presented research before, is that OK?
Yes! This is a great opportunity for students to gain experience in their presentation skills in a less formal setting.
I am an online student, can I participate?
Yes! Online students are able to participate interactively via Zoom. If you need to pre-record your presentation, please contact Kiyonna Navarro, knavarro@sandiego.edu, to coordinate.
What does my poster need to look like?
The most common poster type used is the large poster format of 36 x 48”.
The showcase also features tri-fold posters and slide shows.
If you have an idea that is not one of the above listed, please contact Kiyonna Navarro.
Feel free to review USD’s presentation resources
Feel free to review previous examples of posters for inspiration.
What if I can’t afford to print a poster?
The SOLES Deans Office has set aside funds to help a few students print their posters to allow participation in the event. Please indicate this on your participation request form to be considered for this benefit.
Can I invite others to come to the showcase?
