Join the USD community in a time honored tradition of marching in one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the United States to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. USD scholar-athletes, students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families all come together and join with groups from around the county. The parade is filled with amazing floats, high school bands, drill teams, college organizations, church groups and more! This parade is coordinated by the Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the oldest African American fraternity in America, founded in 1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Dr. King was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha.
Details:
- Register to attend the event to help us know who is coming.
- Meet fellow attendees in the staging area along Harbor Drive (across from the County Administration Building) at 1:15 p.m.
- Look for the USD Torero truck and balloons.
- Don't forget to wear your Torero Blue!
The parade starts at 2:00 p.m. across from the San Diego County Administration Building located at 1600 Pacific Highway. Please report to the staging area by 1:15 p.m.
