Recent developments in computational authorship attribution have identified Shakespeare as the author of previously unattributed plays. USD’s Digital Humanities Studio currently has three authorship attribution projects running: on Medieval Latin legal texts; on anonymous plays from the court of Henry VII; and on 18th-century writings potentially connected to Edmund Burke. Join us for a discussion of contemporary problems and solutions in authorship attribution, a particularly intriguing area of Digital Humanities Studies.
Discussion led by:
Brian Clack, PhD, Director, Humanities Center, Professor, Philosophy
Paul Evans, Digital Humanities Fellow; Technical Director, Tudor Plays Project
Maura Giles-Watson, PhD, General Director, Tudor Plays Project, Professor, English
Jordan Matuszewski, Computer Science Major
