Dr. James Ponniah teaches in the Department of Christian Studies, University of Madras. Ponniah is a Catholic priest who has an international reputation for his ethnographic work on folk religion and the experience of low caste and dalit (former untouchable) Christians in India. He will add an important dimension and new perspective on our understanding of Christianity and social justice.
