Details

Currently the commanding general of Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, General Quantock is widely known as the American commander brought in to repair the damage caused by the 2004 detainee abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib prison. This case involved several American soldiers who were later court-martialed for abusing Iraqi detainees. More recently, General Quantock worked to release detainees or transfer them to the control of Iraqi security forces, and has been responsible for the shutdown of Camp Bucca, a large American-run prison in Iraq.
