Details

Calling is the story of five characters in search of an ending. It was inspired by the wooden-framed phone booth (entitled “Kaze no denwa” or “Phone On The Wind”) built by artist Itaru Sasaki as a way for the people of his village to deal with the thousands of instant, aborted relationships created by the 2011 tsunami in Royishi, Japan.

Told through a multi-media format using still photography, moving images, animation and home movies, Calling imagines five stories that have no ending and asks the question, is it possible to move on when you don’t know where you are?
