This workshop is part of the "Building Your Toolkit for Student-Centered Course Design" series. Complete the entire series and receive a certificate of completion for your portfolio. Attend three or more workshops and receive a book on teaching and learning. 

Workshop Description:

Metacognition has been shown to promote deeper understanding and facilitate learning transfer. This workshop is designed to help you explore the ways in which simple metacognitive exercises can be incorporated in your courses to help support student success. 

Session Learning Outcomes:

  1. Gain an understanding of the role of metacognition in learning.
  2. Explore different metacognitive exercises.
  3. Adapt or develop a metacognitive exercise for course use.
