To what extend is it accurate to name and describe higher education classrooms as culturally white spaces? Is it possible to work towards decolonizing the classroom by decentering whiteness within it? Participants in this Tough Talk workshop will be invited to reimagine their classrooms and syllabi with these questions in mind.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Participants will be able to explain how classrooms can be seen as white spaces.

2. Participants will discuss strategies for decentering whiteness in the classroom.
