Centers for Public Interest Law

The Centers for Public Interest Law (CPIL), based at the University of San Diego School of Law, protect and promote underrepresented populations and areas of public concern: consumer interests, children's rights, and energy/climate policy. The Consumer Protection Policy Center (CPPC), Children's Advocacy Institute (CAI), and Energy Policy Initiatives Center (EPIC) do this by educating and training the next generation of public interest attorneys; performing research and providing public education to inform USD Law students, policymakers, advocates, and the public; and, in the case of CPPC and CAI, engaging in policy advocacy such as legislative and regulatory advocacy and impact litigation. For more information, please visit the websites for each of CPIL's three centers and institutes.
