The Center for Public Interest Law’s role extends beyond the classroom. Since 1980, CPIL’s faculty, professional staff, and law student interns have engaged in numerous in-depth research projects, followed by advocacy to implement findings and conclusions. Since 1994, much of CPIL’s advocacy has occurred in the context of the California legislature’s “sunset review” of the necessity and performance of California occupational licensing agencies.
