Events

The Center for Peace and Commerce hosts many events throughout the academic year to expose USD students and community members to social innovation and social entrepreneurship. Through these events, the Center is able to build strong connections to social enterprises in the San Diego community and share these bonds with the USD population. Some of the events the CPC hosts include the Social Innovation Food Fest, documentary screenings, Idea Labs, and Social Innovation pitch competitions both at the USD level and at the Global level.

Social Innovation Food Fest

The Social Innovation Food Fest is a chance to eat great food and meet great people as you learn about how social enterprises at USD and in the San Diego region are changing lives and revitalizing communities. Come hungry and open to meet new allies! Open to the USD community and the public.

Social Innovation Showcase

Join us to see what USD social innovators have been up to this year! Hear about their ventures, what they've learned, and how they continue to sustainably impact the 5 P's- people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership. All of the proposed ideas have gone through various workshops about design thinking, ideation, business mapping, financial sustainability, and more.

The Fowler GSIC Finals

The Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge (Fowler GSIC) invites students to engage with one or more of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals by developing a social innovation that responds to an environmental or social challenge at the local or global level!
