Cheryl K. Goodman is the founder of SoGloMo a marketing strategy firm for social entrepreneurs and innovators. SoGloMo's charter is to guide social entrepreneurs mobile, global and social strategies. SoGloMo taps the latest social and mobile technology to advance causes while linking missions with the right resources, all on a global scale.
Goodman has deep technology marketing experience spanning the last two decades. She most recently oversaw global marketing / business development for Qualcomm Labs and their portfolio companies (Gimbal™, LTE Broadcast, mirasol) with the mission to build businesses that enable wireless technologies, markets and experiences.
Prior to joining Qualcomm Labs, she oversaw global marketing / business develoment efforts for Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, Inc. (QMT). She launched 8 products in 5 different countries and garnered global honors including: Wall Street Journal Innovation Award, PC Magazine Technical Excellence Award, EDN Innovation Award, the Andrew Seybold Choice Award and finalist recognition in the CES Innovation Awards and GSMA Global Mobile Awards.
Prior to QMT, Goodman ran Qualcomm’s industry analyst relations program making deep connections to thought leaders in the mobile, publishing and entertainment sector. Goodman also provided strategic marketing to broadcast technologies efforts such as FLO TV and FLO Technologies divisions.
Cheryl also served as the director of marketing for Lindows.com, the start-up that created the Linux-based operating system. She also led marketing for MP3.com, the largest online music destinations in 2000. She has extensive experience in broadcast journalism, having served as the technology Web reporter for ABC affiliate KGTV and Web reporter for CBS affiliate KFMB. Goodman is a frequent commentator to press on new technologies.
She served as a primary spokesperson for multiple Qualcomm products and divisions. She has keynoted top tier industry events including O'Reilly's Tools of Change 2010, 2011, USD's Social Innovation Challenge, Biomimicry Conference 2010, 2011. The Digital Publishing & Advertising Conference, the Magazine Publishers Digital Ellie Awards Ceremony, Society of Information Display (SID), M-Publishing, and was listed a top presenter at DEMO Fall 2009.
Goodman sits on the San Diego Zoo Biomimicry Board and is Vice Chair for the Athena Organization for the Signature Series. Goodman attended San Diego State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, television, new media and film.
