There are connections between how the land is treated and how women are treated. There are also links between the business of resource extraction and the business of sexual exploitation.  The ecosystem destruction caused by fracking to access oil and gas is paralleled by the quieter but no less devastating harms to the prostituted women who service the frackers. Climate heating and global systemic inequalities especially impact women and children. Dr. Farley will discuss parallels between climate science denial and prostitution harm denial. Outside-of-the-box solutions are cause for cautious optimism. Melissa Farley, PhD, is founder and director of Prostitution Research and Education.

Reception to follow.
