This is your USD News Minute.

If you're looking for ways to stay connected with your USD community, the College of Arts and Sciences is launching a weekly live series called USD Conversations which will feature professors, alumni and friends talking about current events and timely themes. This week, join Jesse Perez and Shana Wride of the Shiley Graduate Theatre Program for the first installment, on “How to teach theatre when the lights go out.”

Faculty are not the only ones sharing big ideas this week. In preparation for the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge, student entrepreneurs will be pitching their creative solutions for some of the world’s pressing challenges. Winners of the USD Finals will then go on to compete with teams from around the globe for up to $50,000 in seed funding.

The Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair took place virtually this year. Students from USD’s Hahn School of Nursing demonstrated CPR techniques and shared advice on how to stay well during the pandemic. The annual event was a chance for USD to join our neighbors in celebrating the rich diversity of our home town.

As always, stay safe, stay healthy, and we’ll see you next week.
