Prayer in the Time of Pandemic

Prayer in the Time of Pandemic

While USD has moved classes online and canceled campus gatherings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Division of Mission and Ministry continues to serve our university community.

Please join us in praying for those around the world who have died, their families and friends, health care workers, first responders, and all others impacted by the disease and accompanying anxiety. We invite you to visit our online prayer board to read the prayers from our community and to share your own.

Below are resources for staying connected and engaging spirituality and faith:

Online Resources for Everyone:

University Ministry is hosting a weekly Mass on Instagram live Sundays at 6 p.m. on their Instagram page: @usdministry

In these uncertain times, please join the USD community in prayer. Submit prayer requests through an online prayer board, and find ways to remain connected to community and spiritual resources.

Revealing God’s Love in the Midst of Uncertainty: From the Society of the Religious of the Sacred Heart, a source of encouragement and support as we call upon our God of Life and Hope in the spirit of trust and confidence.

Gathering Gratefully in the Time of Coronavirus: Resources from A Network for Grateful Living for incorporating gratefulness into daily life, including e-courses made free during the pandemic.

Pray as You Stay:  An online retreat from the Jesuits in Britain designed to offer support during this time of self-isolation, uncertainty and fear.  They also offer Audio Exercises to encourage prayerful awareness of God’s presence

Ignatian Examen in the time of Coronavirus: From the Ignatian Solidarity Network, a short, easy way to reflect on your day and become more mindful about where you are experiencing grace or goodness and where there is room in your actions and life for growth.
