As part of an initiative aimed at reducing the number of campus-wide emails, the Department of University Communications has developed the Torero Weekly, which aggregates events and announcements aimed at the entire campus community (faculty, students and administration/staff) into a communication disseminated campus wide each Monday during the academic year.

President James T. Harris III and San Diego Bishop Robert W. McElroy flank Cardinal Peter Turkson, who spoke on the topic of "Christian Nonviolence and Just Peace" to conclude a dialogue-oriented conference hosted at USD on Oct. 6-7. The conference brought peace activists and theorists, military educators and USD faculty members together. The event was hosted by USD's Frances G. Harpst Center for Catholic Thought and Culture, Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies and the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.
