Have you noticed new students experiencing initial challenges and having trouble bouncing back? Or students who initially performed strongly in your course, but as the semester wears on seem to be struggling? Hear from USD’s Center for Student Success staff about the Student Success Coaching program and the unique peer coaching model used to support new students experiencing common transitional challenges. Presenters will suggest how this model can be adapted by faculty to engage students in conversations around their transitions to USD and their ability to be resilient.
Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be able to:
  • Recognize key student behaviors to refer students to USD Student Success Coaching program
  • Identify the multiple components of the USD Coaching model and session structure
  • Recall academic success strategies to adapt in the classroom

Facilitated by: Adan Sanchez, Associate Director of the Center for Student Success
