The Lindsay J. Cropper Memorial Writer’s Series presents two acclaimed poets

National Book award winning poet, Mark Doty will present a reading on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 7p.m. in Manchester Auditorium.  A reception and book signing will follow.  To read more about the event and Doty's biography, please visit the event site.   In 2008 Mark Doty won the National Book Award for Poetry for Fire to Fire: New and Selected Poems.  His poetry has appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The London Review of Books, Ploughshares, Poetry, The New Yorker and The Norton Anthology of Contemporary American Poetry.  

 

Acclaimed author and poet, Paisley Rekdal will present a reading on Friday, November 5 at 7 p.m. in Manchester Auditorium.  A reception and book signing will follow.  To read more about the event, and Rekdal's biography, please visit the event site.  Rekdal is the recipient of a Village Voice Writers on the Verge Award, an NEA Fellowship, the University of Georgia Press' Contemporary Poetry Series Award, a Fulbright Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize, and the Laurence Goldstein Poetry Prize from Michigan Quarterly Review.
