Tori Lund graduated from the University of San Diego in May, but she returned to campus this week to participate in the third annual USD Chamber Music Festival and is glad she did.
This is my first time doing this and it’s been really nice so far,” said the soprano singer after her performance during a free noontime performance Wednesday in the Hahn University Center foyer. “I’ve learned a lot. It’s been a great experience for me.”
Lund is one of nearly 60 performers attending the festival, led by Angela Yeung, Ph.D., director of USD’s Music Program, USD’s Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Music Ensembles.
The festival features musicians ranging in ages from 11 to “over 66,” Yeung said. Ninety percent of the festival’s participants are from California and 70 percent of that total are San Diego musicians “who tell me that they are really excited to have something like this in their own city,” Yeung said.
