Selected Jasper Johns Prints on Exhibit
We've seen Picasso and Warhol. Now it's time for yet another artistic founding father, Jasper Johns, to shine at the Robert and Karen Hoehn Family Galleries in Founders Hall.
From April 22 through June 14, a collection of selected lithographic and intaglio prints that were produced from 1963-2008 will be displayed chronologically. The showing will include five prints and a copper printing plate on loan from the artist. Other prints in the show have been gathered from U.L.A.E. (a print workshop in Long Island where Johns has worked since 1960); the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego; Gemini G.E.L.; the San Diego Museum of Art; and the University of California, Los Angeles.
