Liberal Studies Program & Department of Music
Marilou is the Executive Assistant to the Liberal Studies Program Director, Dr. Margaret Daley and to the Chair of the Department of Music, Dr. David Harnish. Marilou manages the daily operations of the Liberal Studies Program and serves the diverse needs of its program director, students, faculty, and curriculum while also supporting the Music Department Office and serving as a liaison between the music faculty, inter-departmental campus offices, students, and the general public.
As a proud alumna of USD (Class of '79), Marilou received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (piano) and a California State single-subject teaching credential in music and taught at St. Therese Academy in the Diocese of San Diego immediately after graduation. In May of 2010, Marilou earned a Graduate Masters Certificate in Judicial Administration through the Department of Public Policy & Administration at CSU, Sacramento in close cooperation with the Administrative Office of the Courts.
Having recently retired from a rewarding career of 26 years with the San Diego Superior Court as Court Operations Manager, Marilou feels she has come full circle; thrilled to "come home to USD" to support her beloved music department and the liberal studies program and to be surrounded with beautiful music echoing down the halls!
On a personal note, Marilou enjoys spending time with her family, friends, being outdoors at picnics & camping trips, doing arts & crafts, and ballroom dancing with her husband.
