Transfer Summer Registration Days

As a transfer student, you have questions. Get them answered!

Transfer Summer Registration Days are optional programs offered to help you register for courses and take care of necessary tasks well before Transfer Fall Orientation. This year's Transfer Summer Registration Days will take place on June 26, July 16, and August 7.

Once you have completed the required steps on the Registration and New Student Checklist and are eligible to request to attend a Transfer Summer Registration Day, you will receive an email with a link to submit your availability. Submitting your availability to attend does not guarantee you a spot, as spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

During a Transfer Summer Registration Day, you will:

  • Meet one-on-one with your academic advisor to discuss which courses to enroll in for the fall semester, and get your advisor hold lifted so you can register for courses
  • View which courses, and how many units, were transferred to USD by using Degree Works (USD's degree audit and academic planning software tool)
  • Learn how to navigate your MySanDiego Portal, view your financial aid offer, and register for courses through hands-on tutorials
  • Connect with other new transfer students, USD faculty, and staff
  • Connect with various campus departments, including Residential Life, the Military and Veterans Program, and Student Wellness

You will receive an individualized schedule when you check in at your Transfer Summer Registration Day. The Office of Parent and Family Relations will be offering a separate program for families and supporters during each Transfer Summer Registration Day. Students and families traveling from out of town and requiring overnight accommodation may take advantage of a special partnership USD has with Bartell Hotels.

If you are unable to attend a Transfer Summer Registration Day, or we are unable to accommodate you due to met capacity, you will register for courses through an alternative process. You will receive an email from your school or college (depending on your major) with instructions on how to request and schedule an academic advising appointment via phone, Skype, or in person. When you connect with your academic advisor, they will answer any questions you have and lift the advisor hold on your account so you can register for courses.
