Shubin Li, Ed.D., is a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from Beijing. She has more than 20 years of language teaching experience at higher education in China, England and the USA. Working as a Chinese editor and translator in the past has also added valuable experience to her language background. In the past couple of years, she had opportunities of substituting tenured faculty professors at SDSU and UCSD, teaching Chinese to classes at intermediate level and advanced business Chinese level.

Professor Li has devoted her time participating in ACTFL conventions, CLTA (Chinese Language Teachers Association) conferences and workshops, and Chinese teachers training courses at Beijing Language and Culture University since 2006. Her teaching interest focuses on methodologies that aim to engage students to participate in interactive, collaborative and task-based activities. She enjoys designing teacher-student and student-student interactive activities with an appropriate use of media technologies and online authentic materials to help students discover the Chinese language and the Chinese culture. She also enjoys teaching business Chinese.
