University Professorship

Application deadline is October 15, 2020

University Professors are those tenured faculty members who have demonstrated outstanding scholarly achievements in teaching and research supporting the mission and goals of the university. Faculty members may self-nominate, or be nominated either by their home department or another faculty member within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Each professorship provides $20,000. The funds may be used flexibly for course reduction (as approved by the Dean), salary supplement, travel, project needs, or other appropriate purpose; for course reductions, the cost to buy out a course is determined by the Dean (depending on cost of replacement, among other factors). Benefits are charged at 9.68% to the professorship account for course reductions and/or stipends.

Note that there must be a seven-year hiatus between this award and a prior University Professorship.
