Upon graduating from the University of San Diego, Joe was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Yokosuka, Japan for two years.  Following his time overseas he returned to San Diego where he proudly served another four years in the Armed Forces.

In 2006 Joe returned to USD where he was hired as the Department of Art, Architecture + Art History’s first Art Studio Technician.  As the Art Studio Technician Joe has advised sculpture and photography students in the production of artwork and has managed all of the Department's facilities.  He has also contributed to a number of special projects for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Throughout this time Joe has continued making art.  His images and constructed objects have been exhibited throughout Southern California.  In the fall of 2009 he began graduate studies in the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of California, San Diego where he further refines his body of work by perfecting his abilities as craftsman and post-modern intellectual.
