Pauline Berryman Powell
Pauline Berryman Powell works with the Dean and the Associate Deans on a variety of projects that support university faculty, and she interprets, creates and applies academic policies that directly relate to the College of Arts and Sciences. Additionally, Powell advises and assists with registration for new first-year students and undeclared students. She provides counseling to students on a wide range of complex issues and serves as first contact regarding enforcement of university and college policies. International students receive her help updating and evaluating their transcripts (first year and transfer students). Working with local community colleges, Powell works with articulation agreements to clearly define course equivalents to USD’s Core Curriculum requirements. Annually, she coordinates the University of San Diego’s Honors Convocation, and she serves as co-chair of Diversity Postdoctoral Faculty and Recruitment, Dean’s Advisory Council. Powell has a special interest in working with underrepresented students, transfers and students with learning disabilities.
