No-Shows and Late Cancellations for On-Campus Interviews
Proactive communication and following through on your commitments will assist you in your job search. No-Shows, late cancellations, or missed interviews are a hindrance to your success and can negatively impact USD and our relationships with employers.
- Late Cancellation is defined as within four days to a scheduled interview date
- No-Show is defined as not showing up for a scheduled interview
There are serious implications resulting from a late cancellation or a no-show for on-campus interviewing.
Late Cancellation and No-Show Appeal Process
If a student cancels an interview within four days of scheduled interview, the student’s Handshake account will be suspended until the following steps are taken:
- Write apology letter to appropriate interviewer
- Email apology to careers@sandiego.edu for approval
- After approved, email letter to interviewer and “cc” careers@sandiego.edu
- Once the Career Development Center receives email, access will be reactivated

Information Provided by Students
Students submitting their resumes into Handshake certify that all information provided is truthful and accurate. Providing false or misleading information may result in revocation of your access to Handshake.
Personal Information
Students are responsible for keeping their contact information up-to-date. The University will update active students once a month with contact information. Current students agree to use their @sandiego.edu email address.
Students may voluntarily submit other information which will be generally used for the purposes for which it was requested. The disclosure of information collected through this site is subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
Privacy
Students are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login and password information. If others access a student’s account and post information that warrants a deactivated account, that student risks losing access to Handshake.
