Our Dance classes include a variety of formats, including Ballet and Ballroom. Classes and programs vary from semester to semester.
In this class, you will learn the positions of the body and elementary steps. As you progress, these elements are combined into a graceful and free flowing dance with expression and poise. This technique is essential for anyone wishing to study any other dance form. The barre’ work will then continue at a more rapid pace with greater diversity. Flic-flacs, tours and fouettes are added in the combinations. Adage stretches on the barre are included with stretches for pointe’. The floor work consists of an adage and several allegro sequences, both flat and on pointe’.
Ballet shoes not required but are a plus and will help.
Classes offered per semester may include Beginner/Intro, Multi-Level, or Intermediate/Advanced
In this multi-level dance open to beginners to advanced, students will learn the classic dances for formal occasions in a fun environment. Students of all levels learn the basic social dances of yesteryear, such as the swing, waltz, tango and foxtrot. Individual work as well as partner work will be instructed in this class. No prior experience needed to participate.
