Ian is a managing partner of Silvergate Development and founder of Highland Partnership, a general contracting firm. Ian has experience in real estate development, homebuilding and general contracting. Previously, Ian was a senior executive with the fifth largest homebuilder in England and in the U.S., developing for-sale housing and more than 1,000 apartments. He also served as a consultant for the San Diego Ballpark District. Ian’s community activity includes serving as a director on the Building Industry Association’s (BIA) urban council and as past state director, chapter president and chairman of the Commercial Industrial Council for the BIA. He is a past president of Lambda Alpha International and a board member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, SoCal Chapter. Ian chairs the policy advisory board of the Burnham Moore’s Center and is an instructor for the MSRE program at USD. He also serves on the community advisory board at UCSD. In 2016, Ian was inducted into the California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame. Ian is married to Gail Stoorza, and they have a daughter, Alexandra.
