Wellness and Sustainability

Hi Toreros!

My name is Dom Pera and I am honored to serve as your Associated Students’ Director of Wellness and Sustainability for the Spring 2014 semester! I am currently a junior from Denver, Colorado pursuing an International Relations degree with minors in both Spanish and Peace and Justice Studies.

My time at USD has been nothing short of incredible. I have served on Associated Students since the beginning of freshman year and have held positions that include Valley Senator, College of Arts and Sciences Senator, and Chair of the Student Life Committee. I have also served as a Preceptorial Assistant and I am a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji), having served as Corresponding Secretary and Philanthropy Chair on the fraternity. I was lucky enough to study abroad in Ireland during the 2013 Fall semester, and I am incredibly excited to be able to bring some of the experiences, memories, and lessons I learned there back to USD. My passion for USD and all of the amazing students attending is immense, and for this reason I cannot wait to continue serving the student body through enhancing the Wellness and Sustainability experiences of all members of the USD family.

Through my position, I promise to help all students learn to love themselves and their place at USD so that this school becomes home for everyone here. The mental and physical health of all students is of vital importance, and it is my duty to ensure that the student body better learns how to care for themselves in a healthy way. I also promise to continue to promote environmental and sustainability initiatives on and off campus so that a culture of “going green” further develops at our great university.  USD has given me the best few years imaginable, and I cannot wait to make the most of what time I have left here!
