Budget Committee

Thank you for your interest in requesting funds from the Associated Students Budget Committee. In order to request funds your club/organization must be in good standing with Associated Students. Please look through the following PowerPoint for more information on how to request funds!

To submit a request online:

  1. Go to sandiego.edu/toreroorgs… and log in
  2. Click on the "Organizations" tab
  3. Find your organization and click on it
  4. Select “Manage Organization” tab on the top right side
  5. Click on the three horizontal lines next to the club name on the left side to find the “Finance” tab
  6. Click on the "Finance" tab on the left side
  7. Click on "Create Funding Request" on the top right hand corner.
  8. Fill out the form
  9. Wait for an email containing information regarding your ASBC appointment

*General Body Meeting funding requests do not need an appointment time to be approved*

ASBC Important Announcements - Spring 2019:

  • We will be very strict on the two week deadline for receipts. If receipts and/or invoices are not turned in within fourteen days of the GBM/event date, reimbursements will not be given. There will no exceptions to this policy. If there are extenuating circumstances please let us know early and we will work with you individually. 
  • Please submit a budget request for all events AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to the event. If your organization is able to schedule all your events and budget for them within the first month of school, you will have a higher probability of receiving funds for your event. If your event is fairly large you must submit your funding request 3 weeks in advance since it may take more than one week for you to present to ASBC.
  • One important change for all student organizations is that ASBC will only be funding FOUR GBMs per student organization this semester. You may save these funds and plan for 7 GBMs or as many as desired, however, the funding will only be given for four meetings. Please look at the registered vendors and plan accordingly.
  • We will also need all organizations to turn in their GBM sign in sheets and use Salesforce if your organization has more than 65 members listed on Torero Orgs.
  • Printing for all events will be funded to a maximum of $25 per event. It is the choice of your organization if you wish to purchase colored prints or black and white. There will be no rollover of printing funds to future events.  In your funding request please be sure it is clear the amounts you are requesting for each specific category.
  • We will be looking closely at events that occur on the same day. Therefore, please keep this in mind when calendaring your events and asking for funding, as less students may show up if there are multiple events on the same day. This may lead to less funding from ASBC. Also, if you have a few large events during the semester, consider merging those which are similar in order for you to receive prioritization. 

There may be other changes done at the discretion of the Budget Committee as the semester unfolds, but we will be sure to keep you updated. 

Please make sure that you as a student are submitting EVRs and not the advisor, this will help avoid any confusion. 

We are making these changes in an effort to be more consistent. Our goal is to use ASBC funds in the most effective way to reach the most students possible. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to support you and your endeavors.

*Please note that meeting attendance is by invitation only. You will be contacted by the AS Finance Chair, Stephanie Silvar, to schedule an appointment to present your funding request during ASBC. Meeting invitations are sent on a first-come, first-serve basis. GBM requests do not require a presentation at ASBC. GBM requests will be reviewed at the beginning of each ASBC meeting and you will be notified of your approved allocation via ToreroOrgs.
