1: What have you been up to since graduation?
In 1993 I joined a banking software company as the head of Latin American Accounts, using my Spanish degree. In 1998, I moved to Austin, Texas to open my own mortgage brokerage which, fortunately, has been successful. Currently, I am the CEO of DreamLoan, LLC, an online mortgage and real estate education website. Check it out at https://dreamloan.pro.
2: What is your fondest memory of USD?
One day, I was sitting in the Hahn University Center studying. A USD professor walked up to me, asked me when it was I ate last (it had been days - I didn't have the money for books AND food), marched me to her car and took me to Ralph's to fill up a cart with food. I'll never forget that moment or that professor. She and I are still good friends to this day and I will be forever grateful for her kindness.
3. What is your favorite place on campus, why?
The gym! That's where I spent all my free time when I was in school.
4. Who was your favorite USD professor or class?
Dr. Liu - Modern Chinese Society. She is an inspiring professor.
5: How have you remained involved with USD since graduation?
Yes, with the PRIDE organization. It's great to go back to campus, see all that has been accomplished, and reconnect with fellow alums and professors.
6: If you could offer a current USD student advice, what would it be?
How you change the world, through volunteerism, charity and action, is far more important than material success (and far more rewarding.)
