The High School Outreach program works to promote the well-being and intellectual growth of local high school girls. Presentations and discussions on a variety of topics are used to help the girls and volunteers learn more about themselves as well as the society we live in. The program strives to build connections between the high school girls and USD women so that each lends support and learns from one another. Volunteers will build leadership skills, learn to facilitate discussions and help design workshops. Meetings and workshops happen on Tuesdays from 4:00 - 5:00. This fall we will focus on Red Flags, Stress and Leadership as our topics.

I am a senior studying Pre-law with majors in History and Political Science. I love working with the Women's Center because I can see the positive change we create at USD. Through our High School Outreach program, we are able to expand this work to the local community. Having the opportunity to build lasting relationships with these girls is something I will always remember and appreciate about my college experience. |

I am a junior majoring in Political Science and Spanish, minoring in Sociology. My first glimpse of the Women's Center was at the end of my first year when I volunteered to be a panelist for a group of high school girls on healthy relationships. When the group "Hermanas" and the Women's Center decided to partner with one another, I jumped aboard and have loved every minute of working with them. My goal this year is to expand our volunteer base.
