Instructional Design & Training

What is CE6 (WebCT/Blackboard)?

CE6 (WebCT/ Blackboard) is an integrated set of course management tools that enable faculty members to easily design, develop and manage web based enhanced courses.
CE6 software can be used to create entire courses online or to complement a classroom-based course. CE6 software resides on a server, allowing you and your students to access it via web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. It also allows you to make changes to your course readily — from any web-accessible location — and to make these changes available to your students immediately. We offer workshops to develop and maintain your online courses with a CE6 Certified Trainer.

Getting started with CE6

1. Register for a CE6 New Users workshop.

2. After the workshop, complete the Course Activation Request form.

3. After receiving your course activation confirmation, log-in, assign content, and start building your course! *

* You will gain access to course(s) only after you have attended a workshop.

Continuing with CE6

Subequent semesters require the complettion of a new Course Activation Request form.

Be sure to check the Training Workshops schedule often for specific training on communication, content, assessment and other tool areas of CE6 are offered.

A range of useful tips for course development as well as teaching and learning on-line can be found on the CE6 Resources Course on the WebCT server. [log-in required]
