Main Anchors
Michelle Ruben: Michelle Ruben is an undeclared sophomore looking to major in Communications with a minor in Political Science. She started out as the "San Diego Roundup" anchor her first semester at USD after being recruited out of high school for women's crew. She finished off her freshman year as USD News' "Main Anchor" which is where she stands now. She also holds the position of Recruitment Coordinator for USDtv. She hopes to pursue a career as a sports reporter. Her favorite sports teams are the Sacramento Kings, San Diego Padres, and New York Yankees.
Andrew Tripodi: Andrew Tripodi was born in Long Beach, New York. Is a Sophomore at USD. Is involved in the ambassadors club, French Club, and is a proud intramural dodge ball player. Pursuing a double major in communications and marketing. Andrew has plans of one day becoming involved in entertainment and possibly producing documentaries. Andrew has many hobbies including surfing, traveling, wrestling, and catching sunrays. Andrew also knows how to salsa dance.
Sports Anchors
Phoebe Gurrola: I'm Phoebe Gurrola and along with my co-anchor, Robbie, we will be reporting on USD Sports this year! I couldn't be more excited to be a Sports Anchor, because sports are my life. I love volleyball, basketball, and the LA Lakers. Along with being a Sports Anchor, I am the Director of Programming for USDtv as well. In my spare time, I play for the USD Women's Club Volleyball team and I am a member of the sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. Robbie Hill: Robbie Hill was born in Pasadena, California. Moving to San Diego California, he loved watching the news and televised sports games from an early age. Now a communications major at the University of San Diego, he has many future plans and goals including either working for a television station, being a youth pastor, or a professional trumpet player. Besides his pasion for television broadcasting, he is also involved in greek life, intervarsity christian fellowship, Hands for Africa organization, and University Ministry.
