Disable Java security warnings
Last updated 6/18/2010
Note: If you have newer versions of the Java 6 applet (like version 6_20) and Internet Explorer on a PC, by following the steps below, you can disable the "Java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern. Block potentiall unsafe components from being run? (recommended)" message you will get each time you enter a WebCT course or Wimba room.
- Enter your WebCT course or Wimba room. Find the white square Java icon
in the Taskbar on the lower-right part of your screen.
- Right-click it and click "Open Control Panel."
- Once the Control Panel opens, click the "Advanced" tab.
- Click the plus sign next to "Security"
- Click the plus sign next to "Mixed code"
- Choose the "Enable - hide warning and run with protections" option and click "OK." You will not see the warning messages anymore.
