The transformation of Camino Hall’s basement from what some have described as a dungeon into the department of art’s crown jewel has been a year-long labor of love. Along with luxuries like a wood shop, metal sculpture work area and drawing and painting studios, the current crop of seniors are thrilled to have their own studio spaces to create art when-ever the muse hits.

Reluctant to strike a pose, Michael Shames ’83 (J.D.) has been a tireless advocate for California’s consumers since founding the Utility Consumers’ Action Network, the nonprofit watchdog that looks out for the little guy’s interests when it comes to fraud and utility abuse. But when he started out, he didn’t realize he’d wind up facing the press several times a day.
In His Natural Habitat
Cal State Fullerton anthropology Professor Joseph Nevadomsky ’64 has a long history of following his own biological imperative: to examine rites and rituals, be they sacred or profane. In the course of his long and varied career, he’s pursued his passion for other cultures on a global scale, bringing home his conclusions in hopes of inspiring a new crop of fearless academic explorers.
