What to Do When You First Arrive at USD
- Check in with Meredith D’Angelo, Student Services Coordinator and Designated School Official (DSO) for the School of Law, in Warren Hall, Room 207.
- Attend your mandatory check-in appointment with the Office of International Services in Serra Hall, Room 316. You must attend this appointment before you can register for your classes. Please bring the following documents:
- SEVIS I-20 Form;
- Student Visa;
- Passport; and
- I-94 card.
* You must make an appointment to check in at the Office of International Services prior to registering for your classes. International students are not able to register for classes unless they have checked in at the Office of International Services.
- Attend your registration appointment with Lee Russell, Graduate Programs Coordinator.
- Visit the International Programs Office in the University Center, Room 132, to enroll in a student health insurance plan or to show proof of your own health insurance.
- Go to the Student Accounts Office (Hughes Center 207) to pay for your tuition and fees.
- Go to the Campus Card Service Office (inside the bookstore in Loma Hall) with your class schedule or receipt of payment for your classes to receive a USD identification card. ALL students must have a valid USD identification card.
- Obtain a USD e-mail account by going to http://mirapoint.sandiego.edu and following the instructions for opening a student account.
- Go to the USD Bookstore in Loma Hall to purchase your books.
- Verify your immunization record or receive required immunizations if necessary at the Student Health Center in Camino Hall, Room 161.
Remember
- ALL students must have a valid signature on the back of their I-20 prior to traveling.
- A travel signature is valid for ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF THE MOST CURRENT SIGNATURE.
- Be sure you also bring your valid passport, valid visa, and valid I-94 card when you travel.
