John Adler

Adjunct Professor of Law

John Adler received his B.A. and M.A. in political science from Case Western Reserve University, his M.A. in education from New York University and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1974, where he was a member of San Diego Law Review. He is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. He has been in private practice in San Diego since 1974, with an emphasis on labor, employment and business litigation and sports law, including the representation of professional athletes since 1988. Professor Adler has extensive trial experience in wrongful termination and discrimination cases, obtaining awards and settlements in the millions of dollars for his clients. He has served as an adjunct professor at USD since 1988, teaching Employment Litigation and Sports Law. He is a frequent, featured speaker on employment law topics, arbitrates cases for the American Arbitration Association, serves as an expert witness in employment litigation matters, and was president of the USD Law Alumni Association from 1996 to 1997.
