LL.M. Degree & Curriculum

International Law

The LL.M. in International Law Program provides U.S. law school graduates with a unique opportunity to study international law in a dynamic, multi-cultural city that is home to the busiest land and port entry in the world. The program attracts candidates from private, public and government practices.

Candidates for the LL.M. in International Law are taught by faculty members and international visiting faculty who are leaders in the field. Enriching this academic experience is the opportunity to study side by side with attorneys, judges and government officials from around the world enrolled in our LL.M. in Comparative Law Program.

Degree requirements offer candidates the flexibility to design a course of study that focuses on areas of interest, including international business, human rights and public interest with international or immigrant populations. Subject to prior approval, courses taken abroad through the university-sponsored Institute on International and Comparative Law may also be credited toward the degree.

Additional opportunities to enhance classroom learning are provided by a variety of university activities such as those sponsored by the Transborder Institute, the Ahlers Center for International Business and the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.
