The San Diego Chapter of the Young Tax Lawyers of the California State Bar Taxation Section meets each month in the Faculty Reading Room at the University of San Diego School of Law. All those interested, including tax attorneys and tax students, are encouraged to attend the meetings and join the group. Refreshments and various snack items are provided by the University of San Diego School of Law.

The Honorable Judge Diane L. Kroupa of the United States Tax Court
The Young Tax Lawyers Group is extremely pleased to welcome Judge Diane L. Kroupa of the United States Tax Court as our next distinguished speaker. Prior to being appointed to the Tax Court by President George W. Bush in 2003, Judge Kroupa practiced tax law at Faegre & Benson, LLP in Minneapolis, MN. Judge Kroupa also served as a Minnesota Tax Court judge from 1995 to 2001, where she served as chief judge from 1998 to 2001. She was the attorney-advisor to Judge Joel Gerber of the United States Tax Court during 1984 and 1985. Judge Kroupa's presentation will include her perspectives from the bench, an explanation of what is new with the Tax Court and a discussion of certain Tax Court procedural issues. She will also compare and contrast her experiences as a clerk to those as a Tax Court judge.
