MAP-Works: Making Achievement Possible

map_works_logoOne of the ways the University of San Diego demonstrates its commitment to the individual success of first-year students is through its use of MAP-Works for transition assessment and support.

The MAP-Works: Making Achievement Possible program begins in the third week of the fall semester when all first-year students are invited to complete the Fall Transition Survey to indicate how their transition to USD has been so far. Based on their responses, student leaders and professional staff will reach out to students who they believe could benefit from additional support in their first semester. Similarly, in the spring semester, first-year students are asked to complete a Spring Check-Up Survey near the end of February to again determine how their transition is going in their second semester, and staff will reach out as is appropriate to offer additional support and resources.
