University of San Diego President Mary E. Lyons, PhD, sees learning opportunities from challenging circumstances, and much to be proud of. Most particularly, our students, who have demonstrated their capacity to become the most engaged, critical and responsive generation in the university's history.

Professors Avi Spiegel and Necia Tschirgi use their expertise to give insight on this year’s Arab Spring. The seismic shift in geopolitics has given these two educators a unique opportunity to share their passion for the intricacies of the region with students, who have responded with a surge of enthusiasm.
