The United Front Multicultural Center's Core Strategies are the primary means and methods we use to guide our work from today to our Vision for 2016.
Social Justice - Through strong connections with on and off-campus organizations, departments, groups and individuals, we challenge ourselves to develop a true sense of interdependence and solidarity informed by Catholic Social Thought. We strive to overcome injustice, inequity and inequality through advocacy and activism.
Education - Through integrated learning, we raise awareness and educate ourselves along with our community about diversity and inclusion. We celebrate the accomplishments of diverse individuals and cultures, and engage the community in dialogue around injustice, inequality and inequity as it impacts our campus, region, nation and world. We create opportunities, through education and dialogue, to learn about and express our multiple and intersecting identities.
Leadership Development - We cultivate an environment where we, as USD members, feel empowered to explore our intersecting identities to develop transformational leadership.
Partnerships - We collaborate with students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and community partners to create, enhance and sustain high quality programs and services. Our relationship with departments and organizations across the University and community is paramount to our success.
Resources - We facilitate students' access to resources to meet their varying needs. Support is designed to foster critical thinking, self-advocacy and a sense of belonging within the USD community. We assess institutional policies and procedures to advocate for change when necessary and offer services and programs that foster a welcoming, safe and inclusive community for all students at USD.
