As you’re about to graduate, you’re probably trying to figure out how to tell your friends to keep in touch with you in the future, where to have all those employers email their job offers to you, etc. Well, we have the solution.

Once you graduate you become a member of the Alumni Association. The Alumni Association offers a free email forwarding service!

Please note: This is an email forwarding address, not an email account.

On September 30, USD will discontinue your “@sandiego.edu” student email account, so it’s important that you establish your new address as soon as you graduate.

What is permanent email forwarding?

Emails sent to the alumni forwarding address you set up (“@alumni.sandiego.edu”) will forward to the email account of your choice (“yourname@hotmail.com”). When you change jobs or email providers, your “@alumni.sandiego.edu” email address stays the same. All you need to do is log into your forwarding account and update the email address that your alumni address points to!

How to register for permanent email forwarding

To register for the alumni email forwarding service, you'll need an email account elsewhere (“@yahoo.com”, “@gmail.com”, whatever). You will also need your alumni ID number which will be available on or after June 15, 2005 by calling the Office of Alumni Relations at (619) 260-4819. The alumni email forwarding service is available through the alumni online community at http://www.alumniconnections.com/olc/pub/SDG/ .

In the alumni online community, you’ll also find information on USD’s alumni online directory, career network, and other online resources that can help you keep your connection with USD friends as you begin your career.
