Some of the activities Students for Life sponsors include:
L.I.F.E. Week (Living is For Everyone): April 18-22, 2016
Each spring Students for Life hosts a week of interactive activities and educational programs designed to call attention to major life issues such as human trafficking, HIV/AIDS, genocide, abortion, immigration, and poverty. During each day of LIFE Week service opportunities, displays, prayer experiences, and opportunities for discussion center on a different life issue. The goal is to provide a forum for the education of our campus community on all facets and stages of human life, as well as to foster an increased respect for the dignity of all life. Additionally, LIFE Week suggest ways of taking action on the various issues.
Baby Blanket Making
In partnership with the Christ Child Society of San Diego, Students for Life hosts a Baby Blanket Making Party each semester. During this fun event USD students make soft, warm blankets for newborns and their mothers in need in San Diego and Tijuana.
Baby Layette Packing
Also in collaboration with the Christ Child Society, Students for Life assembles essential items for needy newborns and packs them into Welcome Kits. The kits are then distributed to moms in the San Diego and Tijuana area.
Interfaith Shelter Network
Each semester Students for Life prepares and serves dinner and shares fellowship with the homeless women, men, and children who are a part of the Interfaith Shelter Network Program.
Stuffed Animal Drive/Holiday Gift Drive
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas Students for Life organizes a children's book and stuffed animal drive to benefit disadvantaged children in our community and in Tijuana.
