The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is dedicated to supporting students from all disciplines and the faculty that mentor them in research, scholarly activities and creative works. Specifically OUR seeks to:
- Enhance the educational experience by supporting faculty to develop and lead co- and extracurricular research, scholarly activities and creative works that involve undergraduates in knowledge creation and dissemination,
- Foster civic-minded leaders by supporting students and their mentors to engage in local and global community-based research opportunities, and
- Equip students with the work-skills required in the 21st century workplace by supporting collaborative and inter-disciplinary on- and off-campus research.
Underlying our mission is a commitment to equity and access to ensure that all students are able to participate in and benefit from research/scholarly activities and scholarships/awards.
The OUR was established and is currently supported through a generous grant from the W. M. Keck Foundation and by individual donors.
