The fee & cost of project
A referendum vote on April 18, 2005 resulted in 76% yes vote among undergraduate, graduate and law students in support of a fee to paly for an expanded and renovated Hanh University Center. The fee will go into effect when the Pavilion opens in Fall of 2009.
How was the fee determined?
The fee was determined by the amount of student space added (30% of the expansion). The expansion to food service, retail and administrative office was not factored into the fee. Retail and food additions will be self-funded.
How long will the fee in place? Will the fee go up?
The fee will be in place for about 40 years. The fee will not go up during that time period.
How is the fee different from the AS fee?
The Associated Students (AS) fee allocates monies to the functions of AS (AS Programming, Women's Center, CASA, United Front, and other organizations). The University Center fee would go directly to the renovation/expansion of the UC.
