Top 5 Ways to Get Involved
1. Welcome Week
Welcome Week is a week specifically for welcoming all our new and returning Toreros back to campus! From the Acala Bazaar to the Glow in the Dark dance to any number of other social activities, attending Welcome Week events is the easiest way to get to meet new friends.
2. Alcala Bazaar
Every semester, the campus comes together to put on the Alcala Bazaar. This year on September 10 beginning at 11:30am, Marian Way will be closed off to traffic in order to showcase USD's many clubs and organizations. Be sure to walk around, meet some new friends, and find out what we offer specifically for you!
3. The Blue Buzz and the Scoop
Wondering what's going on each week? Look no further than "The Scoop"! Each week, your fellow Toreros bring you the highlights and must-see events in a way only a Torero can!
Make sure you also check your Torero Mail for an email from Torero Program Board Chair Marc Gonzales for a list of all the great events happening around campus from concerts to lectures to sporting events and everything in between.
4. Living Learning Communities
In living learning communities (LLC's), students who share a common interest live and study together. Not only do LLCs ease your academic and social transition to USD, they expand your intellectual curiosity beyond the classroom, and establish an immediate sense of community with your faculty and fellow residents.
5. The Student Involvement and Information Desk
Are you looking for something beyond Welcome Week, the Scoop, and the Alcala Bazaar? Then stop by the Student Involvement and Information Desk located on the 2nd floor of the Student Life Pavilion next to Tu Mercado. There you can find resources on how to get involved in leadership opportunities, retreats, and so much more!
"College is about figuring out who you are, discovering your passions and a finding a sense of belonging, and I am grateful to have found that through my involvement at USD."
